Finaly the book is more than finished. I came to a decision - i decided to stop working on this manuscript because if i dont take this step i will find endles things to correct. So i thought - let it go, give it a chance and see what will happen.
Well i let it go, gave it a chance and now i am waiting to see what will happen...
I hope the mail fee was worth it :P.
I will post again as soon as i have some feedback from the publishers.

The book is finaly finished. I am holding in my hands the result of a journey i started almost 3 years ago - a journey that led me through all aspects of my being - love and hate, hope and fear and everything in between. I was close to giving up so many times throughout these years of work. But i couldnt. I just couldnt forget about it. I have never thus utterly and completely given into anything i have done so far in my entire life. My hands are shivering holding the result of this journey. I feel endlessly happy...and thoroughly empty.

To whoever may have read this blog over the years - thank you for all your patience. To whoever will read the book once (if at all) published - i wish you a good time.

461 pages - What lies ahead?

Hi there

The big steps towards the end are getting even bigger. I am confident that i'll finish the book as planned on February, 24th. Actually i need 10 more pages to conclude the final chapter and then comes the half finished epilogue. The manuscript should be ready by the end of next week or up to wednesday the week after at latest.

What i will do further:

- i am going to put the manuscript aside for a couple of days, after i finished it (maybe for a week or so) and get some relief. Go out for a walk, meet friends, watch dvd's anything. Just dont be thinking about it.

- i'll start reading it from first page to the last and insert corrections, cut something out, or add other passages.

- i'll refresh my contact with the publishers.

It feels weird that after 2 years of work and so much effort put into this i finaly will have some kind of result. If it'll be worth it or not...time will tell.

I was in the middle of the last chapter when i suddenly noticed that it is going to be a very large chapter. Anyway i'm on page 442 right now. At first it was planned for this book to contain three parts with 150 pages each. Maybe the last part will be a little longer. I dont wanna rush it, you know.

Hi people

As promised earlier last week i'm updating again. 10 more pages are finito and oh my i gotta tell you it's realy drying me out. I mean right now i am writing all about what was swirling in my head from the very beginning. Maybe thats the reason why i proceed so slowly. I pick the words so carefuly trying to get it as right as possible. And besides getting all loose strings together for the Grande Finale is as hard as it gets.
So if numbers count for something - 432 pages. Next update will be around page 440 when the end will be just lurking around the corner. I'm so excited! After 2 years of work for the first time i know for sure that i am gonna finish this for real. And maybe i'll start on a sequel. But too early for that now.

Starting the Countdown to the End...

I am starting my personal countdown.
Today i finished page 420 and i think it will all be over realy soon. I guess i have about 30 more pages to do, before i write the epilogue. I waited long enough throughout the last weeks and months for an inspiration but i learned again that inspiration is not something you can force. The only think you actualy can do is wait for the writing blockade to be over all by itself. And suddenly there comes a day when the words and phrases come automaticly - just like breathing and you cant wait to be able to sit down in front of your computer and allow your fingers to bring your ideas to life. Images flood your inner eye, setting events, making the characters act exactly like you ever dreamed and say the exact right words - so right you havent even though its possible.
And i know again why i am writing at all. It is like a drug. You cant resist the need to give into it. You cant ignore the calling of its voice and you cant stop comming back to it. The only thing that separates writing is, that it fills you with life, while the other takes it from you.
If writing is the drug that makes me live i am happy to be an addict.

It has been a while i posted in here, and to my shame i must confess, that all the time wasnt entirely filled with creativity regarding my book. Usualy i tend to keep my promises.
On the other hand this period was not completely "writing-free". I reread the whole first and second part and made some major and less important corrections. I must admit that i kinda noticed that my writing was "improving". At least for my taste. So i simply rewrote some parts from the beginning to match my later style. This eventually threw me back in my time calculations. Although i wrote the transition to the absolute climax in my book - the point where all three parts start to flow together and unveil the true scale of everything - the good, the evil, the past, the present and the future. Long story short - i'm on page 350. In even more numbers this means i am nearly at half in the third part, which again means 4,5/6 in the whole project.
I am kind of confident that this christmas i'm gonna have my own book under the christmas tree - at least the (yet) unpublished manuscript.

I am realy curious what my brother thinks about the book. He is now reading the finished pages...
Maybe i should just not waste so much time in being curious about what my brother thinks. Maybe i shouldn't read so much either (just happened to have bought myself the complete Steven King Dark Tower Epic - i read volume 1 in 2 dasy and am now stuck in the middle of volume 2 in a total of 7 books with 4500 pages).

Maybe i should just write again!
Yes, i promise (and i tend to keep my promises:-)

Before i forget: i know maybe half of the people out there will think of me as a complete moron - but i admit: YES, I READ THE LAST HARRY POTTER BOOK AND I LIKED IT AS WELL. My new graphics card is the ASUS EN8800 GTS 640 MB DDR3.
The little brother, of the absolute ubbergraphics monster the 8800 GTX Ultra OC. If you dont care about earth at all, polution doesn't exist in your vocabulary and dont mind to have your own nuclear plant inside your gaming box buy it! I dont care! (Wish i could buy it though too :)
For now this is enough.
Excellent Performance and "could be a very little bit worse" energy appetite. This thing realy needs 3 cables of electricity.

Hey guys - this is my 50th post in this blog and i am proud to aanounce that i just put the point to the last sentence of Part Two of my book on page 302.
I almost forgot how i felt when i finished Part One. But know it is the same - i am happy and very sad in one. Happy that i finished and sad that i again must now leave the people i have written about, their hopes and fears and adventures. I shouldnt have made the concept of the book in 3 parts, because it hurts so much when i have to break the connections to everthing i have written about so far and focus on something new.
But dont worry.
In the next couple of days i will begin with part Three and slowly but firmly approach the epic end.

I finished my exams

It is finaly over - 5 years of suffering, crying and inexplicable psychic torture have come to an end. I finished university. My degree now officialy is lic.phil.hist.
Now what...
I dont know. It's just boring. I just spent 2 days relaxing and i dont have anything to do. I dont know why i expected that once the university is finished something significantly will happen. That's simply not the case. I dont have to study anymore - something i got so used to it over the last 12 months that it completely dominated my life. Suddenly i have so much free time - i dont know how to fill it. I'm gonna make some real gaming sessions on my PC - Jade Empire, STALKER, Command and Conquer 3. But this wont last long - since i know how fast i tend to get through the games. But wait...
Yes of course.
I am writing a novel.
This is the new task that must fill me.
And it will.
So, folks, great stuff is coming in the story. I'm close to completing the second part of the book and starving to start with the third one. My head is swirling with ideas - it's just that my fingers are so lazy. And i'm already working on the storyline for the sequel.

Hey folks,

I was just thinking that i havent posted recent story and progress updates, since i finished Part One of my novel.
Well, here are some infobits:

I am in the middle of Part Two right now. Just finished page 234. Man, this is realy hard. The whole thing is swirling in my brain, even what the charecters should say or do in certain moments. I just dont have much time to write right now. In 3 weeks i have my last exams. Oh God! Help me to get over it. I'm learning almost every minute of my day (except the evenings - just cant miss King of Queens on the Tellie).
Because i am nervous all i do the rest of the time is eating. No joke! I've gotten so fat - i cant believe it. Will have to do some kind of diet after exams are over.
In between i try to find time to bring my ideas on paper (PC actually) and have some progress on my novel. I have to admit - the heart of the story, where i am right now, is the most difficult thing i have ever written. I just want to get it right. The hard thing is that my brain permanently gets bombardet by the storyline for Part Three. I just seem to make this story keep going in my mind faster than i can type it. It's absolutely depressing. I realy dont know how authors like Steven King write up to two books, over 800 pages each, within a year. This is absolutely phenomenal. Or my favourite author Dan Simmons. How is it possible to come up with a story which keeps evolving and twisting on more than 3000 pages. Those of you who have read Hyperion Cantos and Endymion Duology know what i mean. Do these people sleep, eat or do anything else besides writing. I just cant say how much i admire them. I have trouble to organize my time to fit in things like learning, working, girlfriend, family, moving (yes i do that too - my girlfriend and me are moving together), eating, sleeping, watching Doug and Carry get into trouble and writing a silly science fiction story, that occupies my mind.
If i look at it from distance - hey! 234 pages! It's not that bad when i look back to just a couple of months when i started with this. And i am in the middle. Maybe just a couple more months and the project will end succesfully. We'll see.

Dear readers

I find it necessary to inform all of you, who read my site, that i post 2 kinds of stuff in here.
First i do post regular updates on how the story of my novel evolves, how far i am in the writing process and anything else regarding my novel in progress named "Evolution Break".
Second i post videos from YouTube that i find either truly breathtaking for the glory and beauty of the universe itself - different atmo movies. Or i do post videos (again from YouTube) which i think capture the mood or sometimes the essence of the story that is on my mind and i am trying to tell. I would like to thank YouTube as a platform for tearing down the boundaries between cultures on this planet and helping all people to understand that we truly are one and as one we are part of something bigger, that is so much more than pitty human problems like religious, political or moral tensions and conflicts that shroud our view of existance as the biggest gift given to us in a big and eternal universe, where nothing is useless and everything priceless. I want to thank all people, who post their astonishing creations on YouTube for their never ending endurance and their passion for something that is so important - the dialogue between every one who lives and thinks rationaly.

IT IS DONE.
Part 1 of my novel is finished. 160 pages. Im excited. Just put in the last changes. Now i can say that except of possible minor text correction Part 1 is untouchable. I feel strange. It's euphory and sadness, pride and fear. I'm deeply moved, my feelings are going crazy, my heart is thumping.
Tonight i am gonna drink a bottle of wine and celebrate it. Or moarn it. I am not sure.
I feel strangely empty...

Novel Update

The first part is finished. I'm just polishing out the language. Putting in some minor changes and making sure it is how i want it to be. I hope the cliffhanger works, time will tell. Next week i will start with part two.
In my blog i pretty much feel like Humanity in the depths of space - all alone :) The only people who found this blog so far are my brother, a friend of his clicking over the links my brother posted in his blogs and a guy asking me about the picture of the nuclear explosion he pretty much liked. Wow! Three posts in half an year. This is great! :-) I'm curious when the next one comes.
Doesn't matter. I'll keep up updating this diary of my progress through crafting my first science fiction novel.

Dear Reader (if there is any of you at all :-))

I have finished my master work in History and now i have again time to write on my novel, although my time is realy little. After all i have exams in 4 months - and they will be realy big.
Nonetheless i have finished another chapter of my novel-in-work. I'm closing in to the end of part one of my book and i have to be honest - all the charecters, and plotlines are going to an very unexpected end, which i too dont yet know if it will work. All i can say is that everything will be thrown in a mixer and mixed up in a very unusual manner. Personally i want to finish this first part quickly, because the plot is gonna get realy complicated. I only hope that this will work as i imagine it to work.
Unfortunately i have to rely only on my brother as a test reader, because my friends are all very uninterested in science fiction - they prefer psychology criminal and mafia plots, dont ever read sci-fi or do anything in this direction. But i have to admit that my brother is a realy big help for me, because he pinpoints errors in my plot construction with the sharpness of someone, who hasnt done anything else in his whole life than reading sci-fi.

First Story Update

The complete book will contain three seperate parts, which are interwoven by the main charecters. The full story will unravel on the very last pages of the novel.
Part 1 is now almost finished .
Middle of the 22th century - Earth is consumed by The Long War. It is a struggle for the almost depleated energy resources of the planet. As war rages on Earth, the former human moonbase, now home for hundreds of scientists and their families, has declared neutrality in the global conflict and rejects returning back. Instead they declare sovereignity and turn their backs on human tragedy. Eventualy conflict between Moon and Earth is unavoidable, as suddenly a stunnishing discovery is made in the moon dust. The growing crisis between Earth and Moon calls for one desperate step - evacuation. But the test start based on wormhole experimentation turns into a complete catastrophy...

Hello
It has been some time since my last post, but it was only due to some unpostponable duties i had to take care of first. Now it's semester brake. Finaly! Enough time to write. Yeah i know what you think - is this guy crazy? Midsummer, sunny days and he wants to write? Absolutely! There is nothing more relaxing than diving in to some strange world, that came just out from your own fantasy. Spending time with charecters that you created and you still shape . I dont know if other people writing stories have the same experiences, but for me spinning the story forth, driving the tension of the story to the next turning point and watching how your own charecters almost automaticaly react to this new situations is so incredible! I am living a whole new life through them: Ilian Wakeman, Raissa Gamova and Dr. Nils Adolfsson trying to escape a war, that is endangering all that the Lumenians have created on the Moon. Feeling sorry for Anderson Drake and in the same time being unable to believe what he is ready to sacrifice for a brighter and better future. How he is ready to bring destruction to every single living beeing just to make his dreams come true. Dreams that we all have and we all share to a certain point. And knowing that there is a hidden enemy, so powerful and unspeakably evil, contolling the destiny and future of the entire universe, and being master over existence and death!!! It gives me the shivers. It makes me lust for more. I wanna see how far this story gets and what else will happen.
I am adicted to it :)

Oh and i almost forgot - another chapter of the story is fully finished. And the exciting things are still to come.

First Book Update

Hello again

In the last few months i made some progress, though not as much as i would like. After all university is a priority. I usualy spent as much free time as possible on my novel. Now i can proudly say that the Prologue and the first 3 chapters are completely finished. 6 more chapters are on the way and should be finshed within the next couple of months. 7 more have still to be written.
I wont post any complete chapters, for the simple reason that i'm writing in German and this blog is planned to be an english one.

My Name is Vassil Vassilev and i have started a rather ambitious project. For almost 2 years i am now working on something i have planned to become a fully-grown science-fiction novel. It all started with reading several books during my semester brake, which were a bit off-topic of my standart reading list (History). I always enjoyed reading science fiction. My all-time favorites are undoubtly "The Hyperion Cantos" by Dan Brown and the still unmatched "Foundation Trilogy" by I. Asimov. I have always tended to the more technically oriented sf-novels, that try to explain the technology and all the little gimmicks, that make all the fantastic things plausible. During my semester brake i read "The elegant Universe" by Brian Green, "Flatland" by Abbot, several books from Michio Kaku and of course "The universe in a nutshell" by physics mastermind Steven Hawking (although i favour other bright guys like Edward Witten for example - if there is a scientist, who could clame the title of Einstein of the 21st century then it should be Witten). So dealing a lot with quantum physics, string theory and quantum loop gravity during that summer i realised that uncountable questions swirled around in my head. They started to group around curious consequences, related to the explanation of such space objects like black holes, big bang, inflation etc. It didn't take long and a plot started to come to life in my head. Several people - collegues from work, from university - helped me to discard the faults in my story construction, so the thing could look as realistic as possible. I dont like too-distant-future-stories, i just think that they get too unrealistic the far the reach into the future goes. That's why my story plays in the not too distant future, although it manages to overspan the entire lifetime of the universe. Either i am rather ambitious or completely crazy.
